Then, illuminated by LED headlamp (and starlight), view nocturnal animals such as moray eels, stone crabs, lobster, squid, octopus and stingrays as they appear only inches beneath you. Only by LED headlamp will you see these cool creatures illuminated on Blue Planet Kayak’s night kayak tour. Paddling through a red mangrove island by LED headlamp is a totally different experience than during during the day. It will be both eerie and surreal. You may turn off your headlamp and enjoy the magic of an underwater light show as your paddle excites bioluminescent plankton.
Because our tours are sheltered from the wind, we encounter no large waves which makes for the perfect marine-life experience! Dolphins and sea turtles can also be seen sometimes. Great for novice and experienced paddlers alike. Join us in the cooler evening hours when winds are often the lightest. Blue Planet has been offering this night kayak tour since 2001.
Please note: You will need to arrive at the meeting location 35 minutes prior to the start time of the tour. Also, we will provide plenty of mosquito repellent. (Yes, they do sometimes come out during sunset!)
Snorkeling or swimming are not included. The really cool stuff is seen in water only a few inches to a few feet deep!
